Abstract

This article seeks ta answer how a new approach about foreign policy can be ınade possible. by going beyond the ınodernist theories sııch as realisın and idealisın. Becaııse of that, this article can be viewed as a critiqııe of positivist and ınodernist theories about foreign policy. In this context, the article's main claiın is that separat ing inside froın oııtside, which is the main arguınent of the modernist theories, is a problematic approach. To strength this claiın, it will be underlined that foreign policy is related ta not only some specific foreign-oriented practices but alsa all practices which may range from a movie-scene ta a report in a newspaper. The article further advances the view that foreign policy is not only a product of state identity, but it alsa contributes ta the veıy production of state identity.
