BOOK REVIEW: Democratizing Democracy: Free Speech

Abstract

Étienne Balibar, one of the leading representatives of Marxist philosophy, was invited to give a speech at the "Hrant Dink Human Rights and Freedom of Expression Conference" held at Boğaziçi University on December 17, 2018, in memory of Hrant Dink. Inspired by the conference speech he gave as a guest of the Hrant Dink Foundation and the departments of History, Political Science, International Relations and Sociology at Boğaziçi University, Balibar decided to compile a book from the speech texts he considered important.
